Although we are primarily a Walt Disney World site, Universal Studios Orlando is down the road and another very popular option. Many people enjoy Halloween Horror Nights which is a separate ticketed event. It runs select nights from September 3rd through October 31st. Things look a lot different since the COVID-19 pandemic and places are putting in new safety procedures. Universal Studios Orlando is no different. They are doing what they can to for the safety of all Guest and Team Members.
The scare houses may look a little different than you’re used to. They have put plexiglass up between you and the characters. Also, they are wearing masks which for many of the characters does fit well with their costume. Masks are highly encouraged for all Guests going through the house but not required.
We’re not sure what capacity is, but opening night was sold out, and it did not feel as crowded as other opening nights in the past. Although there are still lots of people around, many Guests were trying to distance themselves from others. It is up to you to use your discretion if this is the right time for you to go to Halloween Horror Nights or not. Make sure to do your part to keep all other Guests and Team Members safe. If you are concerned about crowds, you may want to skip the weekends and go on weekdays since they tend to be less crowded. There’s also hand sanitizer near every exit of each scare house, and they have removed most touch points in scare houses as well. All scare actors are keeping their distance from others to minimize the possible spread of COVID-19.
