Missing Disney’s iconic Happily Ever After fireworks show? This fan-favorite nighttime fireworks spectacular debuted in the Magic Kingdom following the final run of Wishes in 2017, only to be discontinued at the start of Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary celebration in October 2021.
Of course, a lot changed in those couple of years, including a major closure of all Disney’s theme parks and Resorts due to a global pandemic. For a time after the Magic Kingdom reopened, the fireworks remained unavailable giving Guests limited options to see the popular show before it ended.
As one Guest learned during a recent Walt Disney World vacation, however, there is still one way to see Happily Ever After while you are in Walt Disney World.
Twitter user @Alexandra__M recently stayed at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, in a room coincidentally located within only within a short walk to Disney World’s flagship Park where Happily Ever After once took place nightly. The Resort, like the others located around the Magic Kingdom monorail loop, even offers spectacular views of the fireworks (currently Disney Enchantment) from outside of the Park.
But that is not how she came across a way to see Happily Ever After during a Disney vacation, the show actually came from right inside her hotel room. As she shared to Twitter, Happily Ever After is still playing on Disney Resort TVs!

Occasionally Disney Resort TV information (particularly advertisements) ends up being outdated, especially in the timeline of COVID-19 as so many amenities either changed, were paused, or removed altogether, so it is likely that these fireworks were added before Disney Enchantment debuted last October.
In addition to its original soundtrack, Happily Ever After was beloved for its memorable projection mapping sequences alongside traditional fireworks while portraying Disney stories like Brave (2012), Aladdin (1992), The Lion King (1994), Mulan (1998), Hercules (1997), and of course, Tinker Bell’s flight from Cinderella Castle among many others.
Watching Happily Ever After certainly brings a tear to our eye, and especially given its short run in the Magic Kingdom compared to its predecessors (Wishes and Fantasy in the Sky) we are cautiously optimistic that the show will one day return.
In the meantime, be sure to turn on the Disney Resort TV station during your next trip to Walt Disney World for a view of the show right from your hotel room.
