Incident Happens With Guest on Brand New Central Florida Roller Coaster

There are so many exciting new rides and attractions coming to theme parks around central Florida. Busch Gardens Tampa is a little over an hour away from Walt Disney World Resort. This theme park is known for multiple roller coasters and is owned by the same company as SeaWorld. There’s also another Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, Virginia.

 

Roller coaster fans everywhere have been anticipating the opening of Iron GwaziThis attraction first opened in 1999 as Gwazi and closed in 2015. Busch Gardens decided to give the roller coaster new life by bringing in Rocky Mountain Construction and changing it into a wooden steel hybrid. During this construction, it was given the new name Iron Gwazi.

This attraction officially opens on March 11, but past member previews are currently happening. A Guest was getting to do a preview ride and reported hitting his hand on a beam while riding the new roller coaster. The Theme Park responded to this by removing two beams from that area.

The Theme Park said in a statement: “The safety of our guests is our highest priority and all of our rides are designed and installed according to all applicable standards, manufacturer specifications and include specific ride restrictions for the safety of our guests. Out of an abundance of caution, the morning after this situation, crews removed two beams from the area where the guest reported this situation occurred. We took the precautionary step to remove them as part of our commitment to the health and safety of our guests.”

The man was okay and refused any medical treatment. Safety is Busch Garden’s number one concern in even if it’s a small incident, they don’t want it to happen again.

Are you brave enough to take on this new adventure? This roller coaster plunges riders from 206 feet tall and peeks into a 91 degree drop. This ride goes 76 mph, and Guests will experience dozens of airtime moments, including three inversions.
