Magic Band 2.0 Now Available for Walt Disney World Resort Guests

We previously reported that Disney has launched the new MagicBand 2.0.  It was first distributed to D23 members and Annual Passholders, but we have received confirmation that the new MagicBand 2.0 is now being shipped to resort guests for their upcoming vacations.  You still customize your Magic Bands through your My Disney Experience account like always, and the new Magic Band is sent to the address that you specify.  There have been no changes to My Disney Experience yet to display the look of Magic Band 2.0.

The Magic Bands will arrive in slightly different packaging that has a little bit different look and feel to it. The center puck-like portion of the Magic Band is removable using the tool that is sent in the package with the Magic Bands.  This allows the same technology and information that used to be limited to one band to be used in other wrist bands, key chains, lanyards, etc.  We haven’t see accessories on the market yet, but expect them to hit very soon.
