This Disney Annual Pass Will Be Back on Sale Soon!

Securing an Annual Pass to Disney Parks has been more challenging than ever before since the pandemic hit and theme park reservations were introduced.

At Walt Disney World, sales of most new Annual Passes have been paused going on nearly three years with the exception of limited offerings for Florida residents only. On the West Coast, the Disneyland Resort has briefly opened up sales of new Magic Key passes, only to have most tiers sell out nearly immediately. (As of this writing, only the pass with the fewest blockout dates remains available.) And overseas, Disney recently expanded its pause on Annual Pass sales to Disneyland Paris.

Last week, Disney finally confirmed that sales of new Annual Passes will open up for Guests hoping to spend more time visiting Walt Disney World theme parks later this month. While this was exciting news for regulars to the Orlando-area theme parks, Guests closer to Anaheim have been waiting to learn more about when sales might resume for passes to Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure.

Today, theme park reporter Scott Gustin was able to confirm with Disney that Magic Key passes for the Disneyland Resort will once again resume sales of all tiers beginning tomorrow, April 11, 2023.

Currently, the only Magic Key passes available are the highest tier with the fewest blockout dates, so for Guests looking for more flexibility (or as much flexibility as one can have with the continued use of the theme park reservation system), sales reopening is surely major news.

How to Purchase a New Magic Key Pass

It is certainly exciting that passes will soon go back on sale, purchasing one is not as simple as just entering your credit card information. With limited passes available, Guests looking to purchase a new Magic Key will want to login to their accounts on the official Disneyland website before sales are expected to open at 9:00 a.m. tomorrow, April 11, 2023.

Once logged into the website when sales go live, Guests will almost certainly be added to a waiting room (virtual queue) system where they will receive an estimated wait time until they are able to get through to the site and purchase a pass.

While you are in the waiting room, it is very important that you keep your computer or phone tabs open and that you do not refresh or close out the window. If you do, you will lose your place in the queue and at best will need to wait longer at the back of the “line,” and at worst will not make it in before passes sell out. The good news is that once you have your Magic Key (or Walt Disney World Annual Pass if you are taking notes for next week), you will be able to renew it next year without having to go through this process.

Before tomorrow morning, we recommend checking all tiers of passes to see which ones make the most sense for you to purchase. Disneyland Magic Keys include the Inspire Key, which has the fewest blockout dates but is also the most expensive at $1,599, along with the Believe Key, Enchant Key, and Imagine Key, which come with varying levels of blockout dates and benefits.

To learn more about which Magic Key options will be available, or to make your purchase beginning April 11, 2023, visit Disneyland’s official website.
