Mission: SPACE at Epcot in Walt Disney World has been closed for a refurbishment.  We are so excited that the attraction is scheduled to re-open to guests on August 13th.  Even better, there will be exciting changes to the attraction upon re-opening!  There will be even more to enjoy about the attraction than before and you definitely won’t want to miss the new fun coming to Future World.

When the attraction re-opens on August 13th, there will be one brand new experience and updates to the original Mission:  SPACE attraction:

  • The brand new experience to join the Mission: SPACE family is the Green Mission.  This mission is an orbit around our planet Earth.  Sites to see on the exploration include the islands of Hawaii, the Northern lights, Italy, etc. and all from space.  The final landing place is back at Kennedy Space Center, located in Florida.  This one is definitely fun for the whole family!  It has been enhanced with special booster seats that allow children 40 to 44 inches to ride, where it was usually limited to over 44 inches and above.
  • The Orange Mission at the attraction has been updated and enhanced with HD video.  This updated video quality will allow you to see better images as you take an exciting trip to Mars and dodge meteoroids and other space objects along the way.

What do you all think of these changes?  Who else can’t wait to experience the changes at Mission:  SPACE?

About Christy Caby

I am a diehard Disney fanatic! I fell in love with all things Disney from an early age and that only increased once I first visited Walt Disney World! It led me to complete a yearlong Disney College Program working at merchandise locations within Disney’s Hollywood Studios (Disney-MGM Studios at that time) and I worked for Disney Parks & Resorts Technology in Project/Program Management. Now I get to write about Disney and help others plan their magical vacations! Disney holds a special place in the hearts of my entire family as my husband proposed there, we honeymooned there, took trips while pregnant with each of my boys and have visited with them many, many times from 8 weeks old through now. One of my favorite memories from each trip is always the look on my kids’ faces the first time they see the castle. I’d love to help you plan your magical vacation!
