Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride Returns to the Magic Kingdom for a Limited Time

When we think of extinct Magic Kingdom attractions, which rides are the first that come to mind? Some of Disney’s most beloved attractions are sadly no longer operating at the theme parks, but they have popped up around the Resort in other ways (take for instance every Nautilus-inspired cocktail that serves as a nod to 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.)

For fans of Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride, only a few references remain around Walt Disney World, including some Easter eggs to the former attraction in The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, a statue of Mr. Toad himself in the Haunted Mansion’s pet cemetery, a bizarre burger and other snacks introduced for the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World, and for a very limited time, a highly sought after popcorn bucket.

While Guests at Walt Disney World this week may be focused on getting their hands on the limited edition Mr. Toad popcorn bucket, Disney just introduced another way that the dearly missed Fantasyland attraction is making an appearance.

The official Disney PhotoPass Instagram account just shared a limited-time photo op where Guests can pose with a Mr. Toad magic shot! The photo op is available through this Friday, November 4, 2022, and Guests can find it with the photographer stationed by the entrance to Storybook Circus.

Since bringing back the attraction itself isn’t realistic, we can hardly contain our excitement over all the attention that Mr. Toad has been getting at Walt Disney World lately! For fans looking to experience the Fantasyland dark ride, though, you will want to plan a trip to Disneyland where the attraction still runs daily AND there is a “real-life” photo op right outside the entrance.

The official description of Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride in Disneyland reads:

Toad Rage
Enter the lavish English manor house known as Toad Hall and hop into a 2-person, open-air buggy.

Skid past teetering stacks of books in the library and barrel through a fireplace—before hurtling into a formal dining room. Careen through a wall-sized window and race past a riverbank, narrowly missing a flock of sheep.

While avoiding a platoon of policemen, crash through scaffolding, splatter a stack of pies, smash crates and ignite a fiery explosion—but look out for that train!

Will you escape trial for your trail of destruction? Or is something even more devilish in store?

We will continue to share updates on any new Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride-inspired snacks, merchandise, photo ops and more for fans on the East Coast, and will share any new developments as we have them here on Disney Tips.
