Walt Disney World came out mostly unscathed from Hurricane Dorian. During the commotion of prepping and worrying about the weather, a new member of the herd just joined the family at Disney’s Animal Kingdom! We are so excited about this latest new member of Walt Disney World!

One of the elands within Disney’s Animal Kingdom gave birth to a health calf. The calf has been named Doppler, which is in honor of the calf’s post-storm arrival. We don’t know the gender of the calf yet, but the adorable baby has already taken its first steps!
Per Disney Parks Blog, “the calf was born as part of a species survival plan in partnership with the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA). Mom and baby are bonding well, and the team will conduct a neonatal exam in the coming days to get a gauge on the calf’s weight, height and gender.”
Mom and Doppler will be spending time together backstage for several weeks for them to bond and adjust. We will get to see them out in the park in the coming weeks!
Welcome Baby Doppler! Who else can’t wait to meet him/her?
