New MagicBand Upgrade Options Coming to Walt Disney World

When booking a resort stay or vacation package to Walt Disney World, guests have the option to select a MagicBand for each registered guests.  Guests typically get to pick the color of their MagicBand for each guest and the names that are printed on each one.  We have learned from Disney Parks Blog that more options will soon be added.  Soon, Disney Resort hotel guests and Annual Passholders will have options to upgrade from one of the complimentary colored bands to one of more than 30 new MagicBand upgrade options which feature Disney characters and more.  These upgrades will be for an added cost, but discounted from purchasing a MagicBand in the park.  The upgrades will be available for pre-arrival that will be at a special price around $14.99 off of the regular retail cost.

For guests who don’t want an upgrade, there will still be the variety of complimentary colors available.  Guests will be able to have the upgrades shipped to their home as long as they order 11 or more days in advance of their arrival to Walt Disney World.

MagicBand just celebrated its 5th anniversary!  It serves as the link to a variety of different aspects of a Disney vacation, which are also tracked within the My Disney Experience App.  The MagicBand can be used to access your resort room, dining plan, merchandise purchases, park admission, FastPass+, PhotoPass and more.
