New Sand Sculpture Now at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

A new original series is coming to Disney+ and Disney’s Animal Kingdom is celebrating! “Secrets of the Whales” from National Geographic debuts on Disney+ on April 22 and in celebration of the new series, artists recently carved a new sculpture out of 40 tons of sand at Disney’s Animal Kingdom! It’s a beautiful sculpture and took two artists over 16 hours to complete. Check out the video below!

Here’s Disney’s video of the artists at work as they sculpt a sperm whale, humpback whale and narwhal inspired by footage from the series:

As shared by Disney: “The four-episode series plunges viewers deep within the epicenter of whale culture to experience the extraordinary communication skills and intricate social structures of five different whale species: orcas, humpbacks, belugas, narwhals and sperm whales. Filmed over three years in 24 locations, throughout this epic journey, we learn that whales are far more complex and more like us than ever imagined.”

We can’t wait for the April 22 debut of “Secrets of the Whales”!
