runDisney Offers Virtual Star Wars Half Marathon

For all of you out there who have been dreaming of participating in a Disney race, you going to be thrilled about one of the latest announcements directly from Disney Parks Blog.  Today it was announced that runDisney will offer a first-ever Star Wars Virtual Half Marathon.  Guests that participate in the half marathon challenge will also receive a specially designed Star Wars medal, too.   The race will be open for registration from January 3rd, 2018 through February 28th, 2018.  Guests can visit runDisney.com in order to complete the registration.  Guests can complete their half marathon by March 31st, wherever they would like to complete the 13.1 miles.

Guests that participate in the virtual run will also be eligible to participate in the runDisney Kessel Run Challenge.  Guests that complete the virtual race as well as he Star Wars Dark Side Half Marathon at Walt Disney World will be able to earn the Kessel Run Challenge medal.

Guests that register for the virtual event can also make additional donations to Starlight Children’s Foundation on behalf of Star Wars: Force for Change.  The organization works to help children and their families who are hospitalized by funding programs at children’s hospitals around the world.
