Star Wars: The Book of Boba Fett Had Robert Rodriguez Directing

Even since the second season of The Mandalorian teased the new series focused on Boba Fett, Star Wars fans have been digging for information.  We do know that production has wrapped, but we haven’t heard much else.  Until recently.  We learned that Robert Rodriguez has been working on the new “Boba Fett” series.

We learned this information from an interview that Temuera Morrison gave with Rotten Tomatoes.  See what he said below:

“Well, we can’t say too much, but we’re going to see his past and where he’s been since The Empire Strikes Back. Somebody pointed out he’s been kind of stuck in this one place, and now’s the time to actually go back in time and check out his journey and find out more about him.

But yeah, that was the advantage for me, was that we hadn’t seen him do much. And along with Robert Rodriguez as director, we were able to sort of introduce him in a dynamic way, bring him back in a dynamic way alongside the Mandalorian. It was just an honor to be asked back.

Hey, it could have gone anywhere. It’s a new time, and I think they’re looking for fresh faces. And of course, again, it was either Dave Filoni or Jon Favreau probably meeting, and then had a few discussions. I was just kind of quietly thrilled when I did do the meeting. I saw a couple of concept photos on the wall and there was a guy that looked very, very similar to me. And I kept saying, “Is that me? Yeah, it must be me. Yeah, it is me!”

And then of course, after having a good meeting with these guys and they outlined a few things, it was just wonderful. Again, it was nice to work with these people, and it was just a great opportunity. They brought Robert back in to direct a few more. There’s some wonderful directors involved. It’s hard work now, what we do now, a whole new system, with COVID in place, health and safety regulations.”

Rodriguez has directed both Chapter 14 of The Mandalorian as well as “Alita: Battle Angel”, “Sin City”, “From Dusk till Dawn” and the Mexico Trilogy, which includes “Desperado” and “Once Upon a Time in Mexico”.

It was announced last year that Robert Rodriguez, will be joining Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni as an executive producer on the show.

With production wrapped and the series coming in December of 2021 to Disney+, we are hopeful we will be learning more about this highly anticipated series.

About Jennifer Retzlaff

My name is Jennifer Retzlaff and I became a lifelong Disney fan during my first trip to Walt Disney World in 6th grade. From that moment, Disney became a big part of my life. I live in Iowa with my husband and two kids who are growing up too quickly for my liking. I started introducing my love for Disney early to my family with a Disney honeymoon and then trips when our youngest of 18 months. Since then, our family has been to Walt Disney World over five times and we continue to plan and dream for the next trip. I love the magic that Disney brings to people through the theme parks, cruises, adventures and movies they create. As a teacher, I try to bring that magic into my classroom to help kids believe that “If You Can Dream It, You Can Do It.” I recently reached a dream of mine as I joined Magic Vacation Planner as a personal travel advisor. With this team, I can now help others plan magical vacations. As a passionate writer, I also have my own blog at magicalvacationsbyjen which is also where you can follow me on instagram for trip reviews along with tips and tricks for your next magical vacation.
