The Best Dads at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Are Not What You’d Expect

Happy Father’s Day to all those incredible Dads out there! While we stop and thank the fatherly figures in our life today, Disney is also taking a moment to recognize one of the animal kingdom’s best Dads. While riding Kilimanjaro Safaris at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, you’ll likely spot these colorful animal friends. We didn’t know however what impressive Dads they are!

That’s right… Flamingos! As shared via Disney’s Animals, Science and Environment Facebook: “We’d like to recognize one of the animal world’s best dads – flamingos! And with a dozen recent hatchlings between Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, these fathers are flocking to their families’ every need. #DidYouKnow Flamingo fathers construct the nest, incubate the eggs, and defend their chicks and nest from predators? They also help feed the chicks by producing crop milk – just like the moms do. So, this Father’s Day and beyond, remember to think pink and celebrate flamingo dads and all they do!”
