8. Choose the Right Price Category

Choosing a Disney Resort can be a daunting task for guests since there are so many options to choose from. Luckily, Disney Resorts are broken down into three different price categories which can help guests make a decision more easily. The Disney Resorts are divided in to the Deluxe Category which is the most expensive, Value Category which offers the best deals, and Moderate Category which falls somewhere in between. Each price category is then home to a handful of Disney Resort options making it much easier for guests to make a choice once they know what their budget is.

7. Budget Resort Parking Fees

Disney has recently rolled out parking fees for their overnight Resort guests. This means if you plan to drive to Walt Disney World or rent a car from the airport, you will have an additional fee tacked on to your resort stay. The fee per night varies depending on your resort category: Value Resorts ($15 per night), Moderate Resorts ($20 per night), Deluxe and Deluxe Villa Resorts ($25 per night); Valet at Deluxe and Deluxe Villa Resorts ($33 per night). You do not have to pay the overnight parking fee if you are a Disney Vacation Club member and staying at a DVC resort. Other exclusions include Cast members, guests with disabilities, stays at the campsites at Fort Wilderness, and guests visiting resorts for dining reservations and other activities.

6. Check Out Special Offers

Disney pros know that the best way to get a great deal on a Walt Disney World Resort is to keep an eye on the special offers available from Disney. Guests can save big by taking advantage of package deals, seasonal offers, free dining, and more simply by frequently checking the special offers before making a reservation. This is a great way to save money on the Disney Resort that can then be used to enjoy other aspects of the vacation!

5. Know Where You Want To Be

Once guests know which Disney Resort is perfect for them, they should do some research and figure out exactly where they would like to stay at the resort. Guests can usually choose between a series of views from their Disney Resort rooms which are offered at different prices, but guests should also know which specific buildings they would like to stay in. While these are special requests made while booking a Disney vacation, often times guests are able to enjoy a room in the location of their choice.

4. Know Where Things Are

In addition to knowing where they want to specifically stay, guests should also learn where things are located at their Disney Resort. By knowing where important things can be found, guests can feel totally at home and confident in their surroundings instead of having to stop and ask for directions or consult a map all the time. Guests should make note of where the bus stops, dining locations, pools, front desk, concierge, and shopping locations are located at their Disney Resorts.

3. Enjoy A Trip on the Sassagoula

Disney Port Orleans French Quarter Resort and Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside Resort bring guests to the charming south with Antebellum mansions, beautiful grounds, and the charm of New Orleans. Both Disney Resorts are nestled on the banks of the mighty Sassagoula River which provides not only a beautiful view but also an easy mode of transportation. Guests who choose to visit and enjoy these Disney Resorts, as well as Disney’s Old Key West Resort and Saratoga Springs Resort, can then take a complimentary boat down the Sassagoula to Disney Springs and back.

2. Take in the Savanna

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge is one of the newest Disney Resorts and it brings guests into the beauty and culture of Africa. The Disney Resort features a massive lobby with plenty of dark wood, African art and accents, and massive glass windows which offer a glimpse out to the most fantastic part of the resort. 1. Eat in the Restaurants

Disney pros know that one of the best ways to enjoy the Disney Resorts is by dining at them! Each Disney Resort is home to at least one dining option, and there are some which are so popular that guests have to make reservations months ahead of time to ensure a table. Some of the most popular restaurants at Disney Resorts which guests should try are ‘Ohana and Kona Café at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, the California Grill at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Whispering Canyon Café at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, and Boma – Flavors of Africa at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge.

About Caitlin Kane

Caitlin Kane first started visiting Walt Disney World when she was two years old, and despite spending most of that trip quarantined with the chicken pox she managed to fall in love with the place. Visiting WDW every year since, she especially loves learning all about the history and small details of the parks and eating/drinking her way through the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival each fall. When she's not in Disney, Caitlin lives in New York and spends her time counting down the days to her next trip.
