Travelers See Some Disney Magic When Arriving at Orlando International Airport

Orlando International Airport’s terminal transforms into a celebration of Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary, with sparkling banners and playful Bambi figures along the glass walls, immersing guests in Disney magic from the moment they arrive.

If you fly into Orlando International Airport, you will see some magical decor. This airport has been transformed and redecorated for the 50th Anniversary of Walt Disney World. It doesn’t matter your age, Guests of all ages are so excited as they arrive in Orlando. Seeing all the extra decorations for the 50th Anniversary is just an extra to make everyone even more excited about their vacation. Here’s what Susan Flower shared with Disney Parks Blog:

 

“We can’t wait to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World Resort, which starts next week on Oct. 1! And now, we’re excited for air travelers at the Orlando International Airport to feel immersed in the magic as soon as they arrive in Central Florida, after a magical transformation of the passenger arrival experience.

A golden Simba statue decal shines on glass, greeting Disney fans arriving at Orlando International Airport, while a monorail glides by in the background for that perfect touch of Disney magic.

Silhouettes glide across the sunlit tile floor as families and fans drag their Disney-themed suitcases past a vibrant mural, capturing the rush of excitement that fills Orlando International Airport—the first step into the magic of Walt Disney World and nearby theme park adventures.

This transformation of exciting Disney touches includes a wide-spanning art installation in the terminal train stations featuring the Disney Fab 50 Character Collection, found throughout all four Walt Disney World theme parks, as well as a photo opportunity with a golden teacup inspired by the famous Mad Tea Party attraction at Magic Kingdom Park, and a glistening glow of projected EARidescent light patterns engaging passengers as they walk through the airport terminal just outside the Magic of Disney Store in the East Hall. Here guests will also pass a 36-foot long video screen showcasing the shimmering EARidescence of the four parks “Beacons of Magic.”

Step into the magic as the Disney World monorail station, decked out with sparkling 50th anniversary banners and a vibrant mosaic floor, sets the stage for your adventure—welcoming fans just like arriving at Orlando International Airport, but with unmistakable Disney flair.

This magical makeover has arrived at Florida’s busiest airport just in time for the start of “The World’s Most Magical Celebration” at Walt Disney World Resort and will stick around through March 2022. Whether flying into Orlando at the beginning, middle or end of our 18-month 50th Anniversary celebration, we can’t wait to share this magical milestone!”
