U.S. Department of Defense Visits Walt Disney World

A lively tour host entertains a crowd of visitors under the sun near a concrete wall, captivating them with fascinating stories about the site’s dramatic ties to defense history, much like an immersive experience in a themed attraction.

The United States Department of Defense is not the group you would necessarily expect to see taking a tour around Walt Disney World. Interestingly enough, they did! Recently, a group of Department of Defense engineers took a tour of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. We can’t think of a better place to learn more about the fascinating technology that makes that portion of Disney’s Hollywood Studios so exceptional.

As shared by Walt Disney World Cast & Community Facebook: “Bright suns! We have an incoming transmission from Batuu. Walt Disney Imagineers recently met with students from the Naval Postgraduate School’s Department of Systems Engineering for a tour of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios! As part of an industry familiarization tour, the group learned about the latest state-of-the-art concepts, tools, and best practices in corporate engineering. We were honored to host this group of Department of Defense engineers and technologists as part of our long history of respect and appreciation for the U.S. Armed Forces.”
