Vote for Your Favorite Theme Park Holiday Makeover!

USA Today 10 Best is holding a contest where fans can vote on their favorite holiday Theme Park overlay and activities. There are 20 nominations, and the top ten will then be featured. Only Parks in the U.S.A. are included.

Walt Disney World has been nominated as a whole, instead of the individual Theme Parks. The description on the website states:

Disney pulls out all the stops during their holiday festivities in Orlando. Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party takes over the streets of Magic Kingdom Park on select nights, while Epcot celebrates its International Festival of the Holidays. Disney’s Hollywood Studios celebrates with Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! music and fireworks show.

Of course, we know that is an old description. Disney Very Merriest After Hours is taking place instead of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party this year. Also, Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! is not running. The site also used an old picture; Cinderella Castle was covered with Dream Lights.

Disneyland has also been nominated. Here’s what the website says:

The happiest place becomes the merriest place this time of year as both Disneyland Resort parks get a holiday makeover. The Disney Festival of Holidays explores cultural traditions around the globe, while Disney ¡Viva Navidad! Street Party, hosted by the Three Caballeros, celebrates Latino seasonal traditions.

About Paula K

I grew up in Western Massachusetts. When I was nine my family went to Disneyland and I was hooked. I grew up, attended New England College in Henniker, NH and eventually moved to Virginia. I worked as a disc jockey, married and became a full time mom when our daughter was born. Fast forward several years. In 2010 we moved to Central Florida and my Disney obsession grew. I now work as a freelance writer and spend my spare time in the parks. Under the name Paula Brown I penned the novels Dream Wanderers and The Coffee Cruiser. I also am a co-author of Dining at Walt Disney World: The Definitive Guide. I'm obsessed with Star Wars, so this is a good time to live in Central Florida. I've been a vegetarian for well over a decade, a choice that my daughter eventually made as well. While my husband still hasn't joined us fully he has given up most meats except for seafood. I was relieved to find that vegetarian dining is not difficult at Walt Disney World.
