Walt Disney Parks & Resorts Receives Award for Allergy-Friendly Food Offerings

We have an exciting announcement from Disney Parks Blog, announced today.  The Food Allergy Research & Foundation (FARE) officially recognized Walt Disney Parks & Resorts as providing delicious offerings that meet various allergies and special diets.  This recognition came at the 20th annual Food Allergy Ball that took place in New York City.  All of the Disney Parks, including the parks at Walt Disney World, offer a variety of allergy-friendly dining options for guests no matter whether it is a quick service restaurant or a table service restaurant experience. Each year there are 700,000 meals that span over 650 Disney dining locations served for guests that have food allergies or require special diets.  This means that guests with these needs are able to dine on a variety of delicious meals while on their Disney vacation!

Here is what Mandy Bond, the Director of Food & Beverage Strategies and Standards, had to say when accepting the award for Walt Disney Parks & Resorts, “It is a tremendous honor to be recognized by FARE for our efforts to make our dining experiences enjoyable for all our Guests. We truly appreciate having FARE as a partner to educate and inform us as we evolve our allergy efforts and resources so we can continue to deliver excellent offerings for our guests with food allergies.”

FARE is an organization that works to improve the health and food options for 15 million Americans who live with food allergies.  The organization also works to provide research and alternative treatment options.

Congratulations for Disney Parks & Resorts for this amazing recognition!

About Christy Caby

I am a diehard Disney fanatic! I fell in love with all things Disney from an early age and that only increased once I first visited Walt Disney World! It led me to complete a yearlong Disney College Program working at merchandise locations within Disney’s Hollywood Studios (Disney-MGM Studios at that time) and I worked for Disney Parks & Resorts Technology in Project/Program Management. Now I get to write about Disney and help others plan their magical vacations! Disney holds a special place in the hearts of my entire family as my husband proposed there, we honeymooned there, took trips while pregnant with each of my boys and have visited with them many, many times from 8 weeks old through now. One of my favorite memories from each trip is always the look on my kids’ faces the first time they see the castle. I’d love to help you plan your magical vacation!
