Walt Disney World Announces Dates for Epcot Forever

We previously announced that IllumiNations: Reflection of Earth will be ending at Epcot.  The show is set to officially end on September 30th, 2019 after a 20 year run.  Epcot Forever will debut in place of IllumiNations on October 1st, 2019.  The show is a new, limited time offering that will feature fireworks, music, lighting, lasers and choreographed special effects kites.  It will be a look at the past, present and future of Epcot.  From Disney Parks Blog, “Featuring a stirring collection of songs that paint a colorful picture of the park, this nighttime extravaganza will offer both a trip down memory lane and a look towards the future and all the magical possibilities still to come.”

Disney is actively working to get Epcot Forever ready to debut to guests.  The director for the show, Alan Bruun, shared some of the details about the concept.  Don Harper is producing the new arrangements of classic Epcot tunes to create the soundtrack for Epcot Forever.

Here is a video preview of what is coming:

Epcot Forever is expected to run into 2020 before a new nighttime show will make its debut.  We can’t wait to see what is in store for Epcot nighttime entertainment in the coming years!

About Christy Caby

I am a diehard Disney fanatic! I fell in love with all things Disney from an early age and that only increased once I first visited Walt Disney World! It led me to complete a yearlong Disney College Program working at merchandise locations within Disney’s Hollywood Studios (Disney-MGM Studios at that time) and I worked for Disney Parks & Resorts Technology in Project/Program Management. Now I get to write about Disney and help others plan their magical vacations! Disney holds a special place in the hearts of my entire family as my husband proposed there, we honeymooned there, took trips while pregnant with each of my boys and have visited with them many, many times from 8 weeks old through now. One of my favorite memories from each trip is always the look on my kids’ faces the first time they see the castle. I’d love to help you plan your magical vacation!
