Walt Disney World Closes Temporary Marketplaces at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort

There has been a ton of construction and work going on at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort at Walt Disney World.  Many areas within the resort have been under lengthy refurbishments, creating a little bit of disruption and inconvenience to guests who were staying at the resort during all of it.  Since Centertown Market had to be closed as part of the refurbishment efforts, there were temporary marketplaces added around the resort so that guests could still purchase quick items during their resort stay.  Centertown Market has officially debuted to guests and it is stunning.  With the opening of Centertown Market, the temporary marketplaces are now closed.

Some of the temporary marketplace locations were closer to guests in particular areas of the resort, Centertown Market is still more amazing that what any of them had to offer.  The Centertown Market area offers a market-style quick service location and is full of amazing colors and Caribbean details.  Of course, everything done by Disney is intentional.  The Imagineers completed immense research of festivals and celebrations that are held throughout the Caribbean Islands.  This research is what inspired the hand-painted mural that can be found within Centertown Market.

Who out there has checked out Centertown Market already?

About Christy Caby

I am a diehard Disney fanatic! I fell in love with all things Disney from an early age and that only increased once I first visited Walt Disney World! It led me to complete a yearlong Disney College Program working at merchandise locations within Disney’s Hollywood Studios (Disney-MGM Studios at that time) and I worked for Disney Parks & Resorts Technology in Project/Program Management. Now I get to write about Disney and help others plan their magical vacations! Disney holds a special place in the hearts of my entire family as my husband proposed there, we honeymooned there, took trips while pregnant with each of my boys and have visited with them many, many times from 8 weeks old through now. One of my favorite memories from each trip is always the look on my kids’ faces the first time they see the castle. I’d love to help you plan your magical vacation!
