Walt Disney World Closing Hollywood Studios Friendship Boat Service for Refurbishment

The usual transportation options for Disney’s Hollywood Studios at this time are bus and water transportation via the Friendship boat service (that will change once the new Disney Skyliner is built at Walt Disney World and there is gondola transportation added to the park).  We have learned that the Friendship boat service running back and forth from Disney’s Hollywood Studios and the Epcot area resorts will be closing for a refurbishment.  The work is due to refurbishments that will take place on the Swan and Dolphin Bridge and is expected to begin on May 7th, 2018.   The walkway across the bridge will remain open while the work is being completed.

The resorts that are impacted by this change are Disney’s BoardWalk Inn, Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, Disney’s Beach Club Resort and the Walt Disney World Swan & Dolphin hotels.  The work will impact the route going to Disney’s Hollywood Studios and is expected to run around 6 weeks.  Guests staying at these resorts will have to use the bus transportation in order to get to the park.
