Earth day is on April 22nd, 2017. Disney has fun plans to celebrate over the entire weekend from April 21st – 23rd. The event has been named “Party for the Planet” and is being hosted by Disneynature. The official attractions and appearances at the event haven’t been announced, but we expect it to be amazing. Based on previous years, we would expect to see additional character experiences, animal encounters, special feedings, animal training demonstrations, interactions with Disney imagineers, special PhotoPass shots, etc.

Earth Day is actually the same date that Disney’s Animal Kingdom opened in 1998. This is a special day for the theme park and all of Walt Disney World since Disney is a big activist for conservation efforts. There is a large conservation presence and focus throughout the entire park. It is no surprise that they would want to go all out for an important day like Earth Day. It is a great opportunity to remind everyone of the importance of protecting the Earth that we all live in!
