We previously announced that Walt Disney World welcomed a new baby Nile hippopotamus around a week ago. This new baby has been a big hit around the globe, so we are very excited that Disney Parks Blog has released more pictures and video of the newest member to the Animal Kingdom family. The cast members that are helping to care for the mother and her baby spent months preparing for how to ensure that the two bond and live happily within the park.

Here is a look at the video that was released of the new baby hippo and its mom, Tuma:
As you can see, mother and baby are staying close together and bonding well. Guests might be able to see the two of them when riding on Kilimanjaro Safaris at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The hippos may also be able to be seen by guests that are doing the Wild Africa Trek experience at the park, too.
This breeding was part of the conservation efforts that Disney is active in. Nile hippos are endangered, but with conservation efforts we may be able to learn more about how we can help this amazing species in the wild.
How cute is this new baby?
