If you typically have packages delivered to your room, then you will definitely want to be aware of one of the recent changes for Walt Disney World Resort guests.  Now if you have a package delivered to your room, there will be a $6 handling fee, per package.  This does not include packages that arrive via Disney’s Magical Express.  The $6 fee applies to gift baskets, grocery deliveries, Amazon, etc. if they are delivered directly to your room by bell services.  If guests pick up their items at the front desk, then this fee will not be charged. The fee is not the gratuity for the bell services cast members and is not shared with them.  If you want to tip them for their services, you’d have to do that in addition to the cost of the fee.

Guests should be aware that they will still be charged a $5 per package fee for items that are delivered to the Disney Resort and held for them.  This is separate from the $6 bell services fee.

Here is the complete information from Disney’s website:

Guests staying at Walt Disney World Resort hotels can receive mail throughout their stay. Occasionally, some Guests choose to ship items in advance of their vacation to help save luggage space.

If you intend to receive mail during your vacation, be sure the letter or package:

  • Includes the mailing address of your Disney Resort Hotel
  • Clearly features the word “Guest” on the front and the date of your arrival

Please note that a $6 per package handling fee will apply to all packages that are received through the Front Desk or are delivered to your Disney Resort hotel room.

Who out there has packages delivered to their room and would be impacted by this?

About Christy Caby

I am a diehard Disney fanatic! I fell in love with all things Disney from an early age and that only increased once I first visited Walt Disney World! It led me to complete a yearlong Disney College Program working at merchandise locations within Disney’s Hollywood Studios (Disney-MGM Studios at that time) and I worked for Disney Parks & Resorts Technology in Project/Program Management. Now I get to write about Disney and help others plan their magical vacations! Disney holds a special place in the hearts of my entire family as my husband proposed there, we honeymooned there, took trips while pregnant with each of my boys and have visited with them many, many times from 8 weeks old through now. One of my favorite memories from each trip is always the look on my kids’ faces the first time they see the castle. I’d love to help you plan your magical vacation!
