Walt Disney World Will Host American Idol Bus Tour Auditions Kick-Off

For all of the hopeful singers out there, American Idol is coming back again!  ABC’s American Idol will be kicking off its 20+ city search for the next American Idol on Saturday, August 25th, 2018 at Walt Disney World.  One of the American Idol buses will be coming to ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex for the official kickoff event.  During the kickoff Maddie Poppe (last year’s winner), Caleb Lee Hutchinson (runner-up) and Catie Turner (finalist) will all be there, too!  For guests that want to audition, they will definitely want to arrive early.  Guests will be able to start parking at 4 AM.  Registration for the event will begin at 7 AM and then the auditions will start at 9 AM.  Guests will not be allowed to camp onsite and the celebrity judges WILL NOT be onsite for the event.

Since it will be warm outside, guests will want to make sure to prepare for the conditions.  This will include bringing water, sunscreen, a hat, etc.  Pre-registration for the event is encouraged. For details, full eligibility requirements, submission forms, and terms and conditions, visit www.americanidol.com/auditions. If you will be auditioning, you can bring one guest to accompany you (over 5 years of age). Hopefuls can also submit an audition video online via www.americanidol.com/auditions or via social media by using the hashtag #TheNextIdol.

The show will return for its second season on ABC this year and will include Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie as judges and Ryan Seacrest as the host.

Who thinks they have what it takes to be the next American Idol?

About Christy Caby

I am a diehard Disney fanatic! I fell in love with all things Disney from an early age and that only increased once I first visited Walt Disney World! It led me to complete a yearlong Disney College Program working at merchandise locations within Disney’s Hollywood Studios (Disney-MGM Studios at that time) and I worked for Disney Parks & Resorts Technology in Project/Program Management. Now I get to write about Disney and help others plan their magical vacations! Disney holds a special place in the hearts of my entire family as my husband proposed there, we honeymooned there, took trips while pregnant with each of my boys and have visited with them many, many times from 8 weeks old through now. One of my favorite memories from each trip is always the look on my kids’ faces the first time they see the castle. I’d love to help you plan your magical vacation!
