It isn’t often that Disney will close popular restaurants, due to the level of loss that the restaurant could incur from such a closure. Dining at Walt Disney World is an extremely big deal with reservations made up to 180 days in advance, with many restaurants booking up extremely fast. Coral Reef is a popular restaurant at Epcot within the Future World area of the park at The Seas pavilion. The closure is only expected to run a couple days, slated from August 27th to August 29th. The restaurant is expected to re-open to guests for normal dining services on August 30th. We don’t have official word on what is expected to change during the refurbishment, but given it is a short refurbishment window we don’t expect it to be anything major.

The restaurant is unique in that you get to dine in front of a huge aquarium. One entire wall of the restaurant is a window into the main aquarium at the pavilion. You get to see sharks, turtles and many other fish and aquatic life. You may even be lucky enough to catch Mickey scuba diving within the tank, too! The food is delicious and a great mix of seafood, steaks, chicken and other delicious menu items. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner, and is a location that is great for the entire family.
We are glad that Coral Reef won’t be closed for long and that we will be able to continue enjoying delicious meals there!
