Walt Disney World’s Splash Mountain Closing for Refurbishment in August

Splash Mountain is an extremely popular attraction at Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World.  The attraction is currently scheduled to completely close for refurbishment starting toward the end of the summer.  The refurbishment will begin on August 28th with the ride completely shut down.  It will remain closed through November 16th and will re-open on November 17th.  This 3 month closure will definitely be noticed by guests due to the popularity of the attraction.

The refurbishments for Splash Mountain are usually scheduled around the January time frame, so it is surprising that they would pick a more popular time for it.  The last time the attraction closed for a lengthy refurbishment was in 2014.  We don’t know yet what exactly this scheduled refurbishment will consist of, but we will keep you posted about any major changes.
