What To Know About Disneyland Resort’s Reopening

Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park are gearing up for their reopening beginning April 30. While the capacity may be limited, you can still expect all the magic that goes into a visit to Disney! Disney has shared details on what we should know before we return to the park.

Just like at Walt Disney World, you can expect the two theme parks to have enhanced health and safety measures and will limit capacity through a new theme park reservation system that requires all guests to obtain a reservation for park entry in advance.

California resident? Well, you’re in luck! Until further notice, Disney has announced only California residents may visit the parks, and in groups no larger than 3 households, in line with current state guidelines.

Important dates to keep in mind:

  • April 9: If you currently hold a theme park ticket, you can check available days for your 1-day ticket type beginning April 9 on Disneyland.com/ParksUpdates.
  • April 12: The theme park reservation system will open no earlier than 8 a.m. PT on April 12 and guests who already have valid theme park tickets may begin making park reservations.
  • April 15: Theme park ticket sales will resume no earlier than 8 a.m. PT on April 15, and guests without park tickets may begin purchasing tickets and making park reservations.

Daily park hours for Disneyland park and Disney California Adventure park are currently planned to be 9am to 7pm. You’ll want to visit Disneyland.com to keep up with operating hours as they are subject to change.

Hungry in the parks? Be sure to download the Disneyland App as mobile order service will be available to pay for food and beverages. Disney is planning to reopen dining bookings for select locations on April 22, with limited capacity. Just like at Walt Disney World, you will be able to book dining reservations 60 days in advance.

And that’s just the beginning! For all the details and health and safety guidelines, you’ll want to check Disneyland.com and review their information. We’re so excited to see Disneyland fans once again have a chance to visit Walt’s home park after over a year of closure. Welcome back, Disney fans!

About Mike/ Jamie

We are Disney nerds. Two kids at heart who love the magic and the memories of Walt Disney World! We follow all things Disney and have great experiences with Disney Vacation Club and RunDisney events in particular. We enjoy the vacations, day trips, weekend getaways and geek out over the planning of such events. From lodging to dining to Fastpasses we have a spreadsheet for every occasion. Mike’s frivolous Disney goal is to acquire a magic band of every style while Jamie’s goal is to experience as many Disney desserts as possible. Usually there isn’t a day that passes without some discussion of the master plan of our next trip to the happiest place on earth. Most people think we’re normal – until they travel to Disney with us. We have been married for 16 years and are blessed with a daughter and a son who have already learned the importance of planning ahead! As a family we thoroughly enjoy the magic and the memories at Walt Disney World and are here to help others experience the magic as well.
