Iger in the interview discussed how the major risk was the decision to pivot strategically to OTT, DTC digital entertainment platforms” Disney+, Hulu and ESPN+ from linear channels, cable and satellite.
The risk was around the technology and execution of and if it would all work seamlessly as well as the uncertainty if consumers would pay a monthly fee for these services.

Iger states, ““It was a triple threat from a risk perspective. It’s incredible to think it was less than two years ago. It all worked out”. As people have become more comfortable staying home to watch movies and shows, especially during these unique times, it has really helped this business take off.
