It has been confirmed that Wolfgang Puck Grand Cafe at Disney Springs in Walt Disney World will be closing permanently, starting on August 1st. The restaurant closure will also result in layoffs for the staff that works there. The number of laid off employees is expected to be almost 70 servers, around 40 cooks, 3 restaurant managers and a general manager. These displaced employees will be offered positions at other locations in Orlando to help prevent them from going without a job.

This announcement isn’t a complete surprise after we previously announced the new Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill, set to open in 2018. This new Levy Restaurants location will be opening in the Town Center area of Disney Springs. It is expected to offer a new menu that will also include some favorites from the flagship location in California. This will be an exciting new restaurant for the area.
Disney Springs has actively been opening new restaurant and shopping locations over the last couple of years. It looks like there are no intentions to slow down yet as more and more locations continue to be announced. There are new restaurants scheduled to open in 2017 as well as the newly announced restaurants for 2018. We love the new life in the Disney Springs area and all of the amazing options when visiting the area.
Who will be sad to see the current Wolfgang Puck location close?
