A postal worker from New Jersey who claimed disability payments totaling $156,000 got caught in her lie because of a Disney World trip.

The Walt Disney World Resort is known to be one of the best places on the planet for a Disney vacation, and for good reason. With incredible rides like Space Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad in Magic Kingdom Park to lands like Pandora in Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, there’s a lot to love.

Sometimes, guests can get so lost in the magic that they find themselves in trouble and, occasionally, even caught in a lie.

New Jersey Postal Worker Gets Caught in a Lie After Receiving Disability Payments Worth $156,000

As Yahoo! News reported recently, a postal worker from New Jersey who had claimed $156,000 in disability payments after stating she had “severely hurt her ankle delivering packages” was caught walking around the Central Florida Disney Resort.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of New Jersey, the woman had lied on disability forms and had reported that she had not “worked or had outside employment for extended periods of time” since September 2020.

On September 1, 2020, the woman filed a disability compensation claim form. In the form, she reportedly wrote she had been injured while on the job as a USPS carrier in August of the same year.

Unfortunately for her, she was caught as she received disability benefits while running her own travel agency, and, of course, visiting Disney World and Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida.

On being investigated, the woman pleaded guilty to one count of federal employee compensation fraud.

Per Yahoo! News,

The woman could be sentenced up to five years in prison for federal employee compensation fraud and could be ordered to pay a fine of up to $250,000 — or a fine that’s “twice the gross amount of any pecuniary gain,” according to prosecutors.
