10 Things You’ll Love About Flying Fish at Walt Disney World

There are so many great dining experiences at Walt Disney World, but if you haven’t been to Flying Fish you are definitely missing out!  Here are 10 things that you’ll love about Flying Fish at Walt Disney World:

10.  Convenient location

Flying Fish is located within Disney’s BoardWalk.  This location is convenient to get to by boat when coming from Disney’s Hollywood Studios or the Epcot World Showcase entrance.  Guests staying at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn, Disney’s Yacht Club Resort or Disney’s Beach Club Resort also have quick access to the dining location. There is also other nightlife and entertainment so guests don’t have to call it a night when dinner is over.

9.  Signature dining experience with upscale vibe

Flying Fish is one of Walt Disney World’s Signature Dining locations.  The location features upscale, sophisticated dining.  There atmosphere offers an ocean-like theme, but done in a more subtle way.  The dining room isn’t decorated over the top like you might think of a typical Disney dining location, but done with a more relaxed themed and vibe.

8. The dress code creates the perfect date night and celebration location.

Since the dining location is a signature dining location, there is also an enforced dress code.  Guests dining there must adhere to the dress code to preserve the upscale atmosphere in the dining room.  This makes the location a great option for guests who are looking for a spot for a date night or celebration while at Walt Disney World.

7. Delicious appetizer selections

We don’t even know how to choose from all of the great appetizer selections that are available.  There are dishes like Lobster Bisque, Crispy Oysters, Local Soft-Shell Crab, Kurobuta Pork Belly and more.  We definitely recommend taking your time during your dining experience to enjoy an appetizer or two.  Just come hungry so that you can sample a variety!

6. There are special event offerings.

Be sure to check for special events at the location.  Flying Fish is typically home to a fantastic New Year’s Eve celebration where guests can ring in the New Year with delicious food and drinks in an amazing atmosphere.  There may also be other special events throughout the year, so it is always worth a check!

5. There are discounts available.

Be sure to ask about available discount options.  Guests who at Walt Disney World Annual Passholders, Tables in Wonderland, Disney Vacation Club, Disney Cast Members, etc. can typically enjoy a discount when dining at Flying Fish.  The location also accepts table service dining entitlements for guests on the Disney Dining Plan. Guests on a Disney Dining Plan will need to have 2 table service entitlements available for each guest who will be dining.

4. Wide variety of unique entree selections

At Flying Fish you will find entrees that feature a variety of different seafood selections and accompaniments.  If you love seafood, it will be hard to pick!  I, personally, love the Hokkaido Scallops since scallops are one of my favorite seafood items.  They are served with antebellum grits, sweet corn and a peppadew emulsion.  If you aren’t a seafood fan, you will also find chicken, steak and vegetarian options to enjoy.

3.  Bread service you won’t want to miss.

There are many great bread services at Walt Disney World, but this one is definitely a great one.  We love all of the unique butter and bread offerings, but at Flying Fish you will find a seaweed and sea salt butter.  It is unique and the taste of the sea salt goes perfectly with the bread.  It fits within the vibe of the restaurant, while also being delicious.

2. You’ll want to save room for dessert.

Calories don’t count while at Disney, right?  We like to think so!  Be sure to save room so that you can check out one of the delicious dessert offerings.  I love the Cocoa Beach, which is a chocolate-hazelnut cake with warm ganache.  It is decadent, rich a delicious way to end your meal at Flying Fish.

1.  The cocktails are delicious.

If you like to enjoy a cocktail or other adult beverage during your dinner out, then you are in luck!  There are a variety of specialty beverages to check out, along with wines, beers and more.  My favorite is the Peanut Butter Freeze, which is made with Kahlúa, Baileys Irish Cream, crème de banana, dark crème de cacao, peanut butter and then garnished with candied bacon.  If you are peanut butter fan, you are going to love it!

About Christy Caby

I am a diehard Disney fanatic! I fell in love with all things Disney from an early age and that only increased once I first visited Walt Disney World! It led me to complete a yearlong Disney College Program working at merchandise locations within Disney’s Hollywood Studios (Disney-MGM Studios at that time) and I worked for Disney Parks & Resorts Technology in Project/Program Management. Now I get to write about Disney and help others plan their magical vacations! Disney holds a special place in the hearts of my entire family as my husband proposed there, we honeymooned there, took trips while pregnant with each of my boys and have visited with them many, many times from 8 weeks old through now. One of my favorite memories from each trip is always the look on my kids’ faces the first time they see the castle. I’d love to help you plan your magical vacation!
