Disney’s Hollywood Studios is the smallest park in size, but that doesn’t mean that there aren’t numerous amazing dining options that hold their own against all the other amazing options throughout the Walt Disney World resort.  Here are 6 restaurants that we absolutely love at Disney’s Hollywood Studios:

6. ABC Commissary

This location is found in the walkway just to the left of the Chinese theater.  This is a quick-service location where you get to eat a delicious burger while you soak up the shade and air conditioning! There are various other options including salads, chicken and even a steak!  The décor definitely makes you feel like you are dining at the studio in Hollywood.  One of my favorite things about the atmosphere in this area is the music that plays.  You are very likely to hear music from classic television shows like Lavern & Shirley and other favorites, which is just a lot of fun during a quick meal before you get back out to your next ride or show.

5. Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano

This one is located at the very, very back of the park, but is worth the trek.  The décor and story for the restaurant are adorable.  Mama Melrose was moved to Hollywood as a young girl to pursue a fabulous acting career, but found that cooking was where her true talent presented itself.  Her restaurant was a popular dining spit for the many within the movie scene, and now we get to experience it right at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.  Inside the restaurant are lights and décor to help you feel like you are dining under the stars.  The food is delicious, authentic Italian cuisine.  You have options like Chicken Parmigiana, Spaghetti, Steak, pizzas and more. The restaurant also has a wonderful wine list.  This is a great place that is fun for everyone!

4. Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater

You can get a real “drive-in” experience right in the middle of a theme park!  The atmosphere is that of a 50’s drive in with cars for tables and set up to look like you are dining under the stars.  There are even “fences” around the restaurant to ensure every detail is covered.  On the big screens are clips from old sci-fi movies as well as old hot dog and soda commercials.  This isn’t a place that just serves nachos and popcorn.  You can get a delicious steak and real culinary experience.  You may even find that some of the servers are rolling around on roller skates, which is right out of 1950!  It is a really fun place to be, plus delicious and entertainment!

3. Club Villain

This is one of the newest dining experience at the park.  This is so much more than a meal, it is a show and exclusive experience.  The meal is a prix fixe menu of New England inspired menu items that includes all courses, including dessert.  The set price for admission, $129, also includes the themed alcoholic beverages for those who are old enough.  Everything is themed to perfectly match the event.  During the dinner, there is an amazing stage show with many of the villains that we love to hate, as well as the opportunity to mix and mingle with them.  It is a pricey event, but one that is a lot of fun and unique.

2. The Hollywood Brown Derby

This is a restaurant that is a replica of the restaurant in Hollywood.  The restaurant was a hot spot for many celebrities during the glitz and glamour of Hollywood.  The walls of the restaurant are adorned with caricatures of many, many famous celebrities and their autographs.  The location is a Disney Signature Dining experience, with recipes and menu items that are taken exactly from the original location.  The food is delicious and the steak is one of the best on property.  You can’t leave without having an order of crab cakes, too!  The atmosphere makes you feel glamorous and the food is delicious, so what more could you want?  We have dates nights here regularly!

1. 50’s Prime Time Café

This is classic family restaurant.  All of the menu items are meals that you would expect to come right out of Mom’s kitchen with love and care.  That is just what they are!  “Mom” is cooking up all of the good stuff while your “aunts”, “uncles”, “cousins”, etc. are interacting with you and serving the delicious meal.  Don’t forget to be mindful of all of your manners!  Keep your elbows off the table, be sure to say “please” and “thank you” and make sure you eat all of your vegetables!  If you don’t you might even get put in a time out!  The antics in the restaurant are so much fun and the fried chicken is absolutely amazing!  You don’t want to miss it!

About Christy Caby

I am a diehard Disney fanatic! I fell in love with all things Disney from an early age and that only increased once I first visited Walt Disney World! It led me to complete a yearlong Disney College Program working at merchandise locations within Disney’s Hollywood Studios (Disney-MGM Studios at that time) and I worked for Disney Parks & Resorts Technology in Project/Program Management. Now I get to write about Disney and help others plan their magical vacations! Disney holds a special place in the hearts of my entire family as my husband proposed there, we honeymooned there, took trips while pregnant with each of my boys and have visited with them many, many times from 8 weeks old through now. One of my favorite memories from each trip is always the look on my kids’ faces the first time they see the castle. I’d love to help you plan your magical vacation!
