Disneyland Resort visitors have recently noticed a subtle but significant change to park operating hours that has left some guests frustrated and disappointed. According to a detailed report from a frequent guest, both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure (DCA) have been closing earlier than expected since Labor Day.

Adapted Hours Annoy Guests

The guest explained:

“I’m not sure if anyone has noticed, but since Labor Day, both Disneyland and DCA have been closing an hour earlier than normal (DL closing @ 11pm instead of 12am, DCA closing at 9pm instead of 10pm).”

While occasional early closures have been observed in the past—particularly on weekdays leading into major seasonal events or during lower attendance periods—this latest change appears to be far more consistent. The guest shared that even on weekends during the Halloween season, traditionally busy nights, both parks are closing an hour early:
“No midnight close for DL, on a weekend, during the Halloween season?!?”

Should Disney Make a Change

The visitor reportedly checked the Disneyland Resort daily events calendar and discovered that the early closure is now scheduled every night through November 8, with no public announcement or explanation provided by Disney. The guest expressed significant concern over the impact on regular night visitors:

As someone who mostly visits the park at night weekly and stays until close, removing an hour from my park visits could put my magic key on the chopping block when up for renewal this year. Of course prices will go up, but less hours across the whole DLR on top of the already downward trending quality of the park experience, this is shameful.

Some fans speculate that the change may be related to operational adjustments, including labor scheduling and cost management, though no official statement has been released. The early closures have sparked discussion among parkgoers online, with many expressing disappointment that the shift affects weekend nights and popular seasonal periods like Halloween.

The guest concluded with hope for a reversal of the decision, particularly as the holidays approach:

“Praying that we see it go back to the parks’ regular closing times for Christmas season 😭🤞🏻”

With no formal communication from Disneyland Resort, many visitors are left wondering whether the early closures are permanent or a temporary adjustment. Fans and annual passholders alike will be watching closely to see if operating hours are restored to their usual schedules in time for the festive season.
