Every Disney theme park has a story to tell. From Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World to the original Disneyland Park, each one is home to classic dark rides, fun shopping and dining experiences, all of which work together to create that special, indescribable “Disney magic.”

Things are extra magical right now as both Walt Disney World and Disneyland gear up for their respective holiday parties. Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is now in full effect, as is Disney’s Hollywood Nights.

Things are a little at Disneyland. While guests can explore special limited-time events, the California resort is not hosting a separate ticketed event like its East Coast sibling. Regardless, the holidays are still an incredible time to visit, especially with so much on the way.

A lot has changed at Disneyland, with plenty more in store for the resort in the coming years. From ride closures to full-on expansions, guests can expect “The Happiest Place on Earth” to look quite different very soon. However, there has been one unexpected update to an iconic part of the park.

According to multiple guests, Disneyland is seemingly taking extra safety precautions when it comes to its thrill rides, namely Incredicoaster. According to a Reddit post from yogi818, Disneyland staff now require guests to part with their water bottles before hopping aboard the roller coaster.

A photo shows several water bottles sitting on top of what seems to be like a new storage area near the attraction’s loading dock.

Just noticed last night, people in line, both LL and regular, were being stopped and asked to put their bottles away or leave them behind,” said the guest. “Visited again today and saw this shelf. Did this just start or did I just never notice. Wondering if those times the ride was shut was because of a Stanley cup.”

Incredicoaster can be found in Pixar Pier at Disney California Adventure. The original version of the ride, California Screaming, closed in 2018 for an Incredibles makeover, which it has sported ever since.

While fans may miss the original version of the thrill ride, Incredicoaster still offers the same exhilarating experience, only now with a Pixar twist. Not only is Incredicoaster the fastest ride at Disneyland, it is also the only one to feature an inversion.

About Luke Dammann

When at Disney world, Luke will probably be found eating with his favorite animatronic, Sonny Eclipse at Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe. When not at Disney World, Luke will probably be found defending Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe to people who claim "there are better restaurants"
