The wait, though, is officially almost over.

It has long been one of the more efficient and popular meet and greet experiences in Magic Kingdom, largely because it offers guests the chance to see four different characters without needing to hop between separate lines scattered across the park.
While the venue has been closed, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, and Daisy have continued meeting guests outside in Storybook Circus instead. That outdoor setup has worked as a temporary solution, but with the indoor venue’s reopening now locked in, those meet and greets will likely move back inside once the doors reopen on Saturday.
The Signs Pointing Toward Reopening
Anyone who has walked past the construction walls in Storybook Circus over the past few weeks has likely noticed the pace of visible progress picking up. A new tent roof was installed on the structure back in April, giving the building its refreshed look ahead of the eventual reopening. More recently, crews removed the scrim and scaffolding that had been covering the venue, and banners have since been installed on either side of the main sign, both strong indicators that the space was nearing completion.
Behind the construction walls, crew members have also been spotted working on the wait time signage, a small but telling detail for anyone tracking the reopening closely, since functioning wait time boards are typically one of the last pieces put in place before a meet and greet location welcomes guests again.
Why the Timing Works Out So Well For The Character Location
The reopening timing lines up nicely with the venue’s role later in the year as well. Pete’s Silly Sideshow is not just a daytime meet-and-greet spot. The building also hosts character meet-and-greets during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, two of the park’s most popular after-hours events. Having the venue back in working order well ahead of either event gives Disney plenty of breathing room before the busier fall and winter event seasons begin.

What’s Still Closed Next Door
While Pete’s Silly Sideshow is set to reopen, its neighbor in Storybook Circus is still very much under construction. Big Top Souvenirs, the shop located right next to Pete’s Silly Sideshow, closed in late February for its own refurbishment and does not yet have a confirmed reopening date.
Progress has been visible there as well. The tent’s exterior was fully removed by mid March, and crews recently installed a new tent roof in a bright shade of blue. That new roof has not yet been pulled taut and secured onto its supports, which will likely happen over the next few weeks as work continues.
It is a nice silver lining for guests in the meantime. Even with Big Top Souvenirs still closed, Storybook Circus is clearly trending in the right direction, and Pete’s Silly Sideshow reopening first means guests will not need to wait for both projects to wrap before character meet and greets return to their usual indoor setup.
