A new Animal Kingdom attraction officially lifts off.
Disney used its Horizons: Disney Experiences Showcase presentation at D23 to reveal official names and new story details for the three attractions coming to Tropical Americas, the land replacing DinoLand U.S.A. at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The land was first announced at D23 2024, with the Encanto and Indiana Jones franchises long rumored as anchor attractions.
The three confirmed attractions are Antonio’s Fiesta de Encanto, Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent, and El Carrusel de los Animalitos, with Disney positioning the Encanto and Indiana Jones rides as the land’s two headliners.
Disney’s Encanto attraction now has an official name and a fuller story. In Antonio’s Fiesta de Encanto, guests will visit Casita during the celebration of Antonio Madrigal receiving his gift to communicate with animals, riding through furniture-built vehicles that react to the story around them before arriving in a reimagined version of Antonio’s room, now depicted as a rainforest featuring more than 50 animals developed in consultation with Disney’s Animals, Science and Environment team.
The attraction will have no height requirement, and Stephanie Beatriz, Jessica Darrow, and Diane Guerrero are all returning to voice Mirabel, Luisa, and Isabela, respectively.
But what about the location of the former DINOSAUR attraction?
Disney has officially confirmed the name of its new Indiana Jones attraction: Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent. The ride will take over the current site of DINOSAUR, though Disney is not simply retheming the existing attraction.
In the new storyline, Indy uncovers a hidden passage inside an ancient temple that leads toward the Mayan underworld, a passage said to be guarded by a mythological creature according to local legend. True to form, Indy pushes further into the temple to investigate, only to discover that the legend– Tsukán–is real.
From there, the attraction escalates quickly. Guests are pulled through a portal into the underworld itself, triggering an escape sequence set against bats, scorpions, fire, and snakes, before building to a climactic confrontation with the creature guarding the temple.
“You may be asking, ‘why’d it have to be snakes?’ and Imagineers have a great answer to that,” Disney Parks Blog wrote. “Chris divulged that you’ll encounter the Tsukán throughout the attraction, including a final confrontation that will probably solidify your fear of snakes for the rest of time”
Disney also confirmed a significant technical detail: the Indiana Jones Audio-Animatronic will be modeled after Harrison Ford, marking the first time an Indy animatronic has been built in his likeness.
Now, bioreconstruct has shared a new photo of the attraction, which shows the colorful facade coming to the Indiana Jones attraction at Animal Kingdom.

What This Means for You
Animal Kingdom guests now have a clearer picture of what will replace DinoLand U.S.A., and the Indiana Jones reveal in particular signals a much more ambitious, story-driven attraction than a simple retheme. With production already underway on the animatronics and ride vehicles, expect more details, including opening timelines, as construction progresses.
