In a historic move for the theme park industry, a massive Wizarding World expansion has officially been revealed, featuring three distinct Harry Potter–themed lands under a single indoor roof. Spanning roughly 63,000 square meters (678,000 square feet), the project brings Hogwarts, Diagon Alley, and the Forbidden Forest together into one unified experience.
Three Iconic Lands Under One Roof
Originally teased as a smaller development concept, official plans have scaled up to deliver three fully realized environments:

- Hogwarts Castle: A towering Gothic castle structure featuring iconic school corridors and magical classrooms.
- Diagon Alley: A cobblestone street packed with wonky storefronts, magical retail shops, and themed dining.
- The Forbidden Forest: Making history as the world’s first permanent, standalone theme park land dedicated entirely to the mysterious dark forest.
While Universal theme parks currently divide Hogwarts and Diagon Alley across separate parks in Florida, this expansion unites both environments—along with the Forbidden Forest—under one climate-controlled roof.
Exclusive Rides Confirmed (But Details Remain Sealed)
Developers have officially confirmed that the expansion will premiere world-exclusive Harry Potter rides designed specifically for this destination. Because these attractions are being built from the ground up, guests will experience original storylines and ride mechanics distinct from any existing Universal attractions.

However, theme park enthusiasts should keep in mind that no specific ride names, themes, or mechanical systems have been officially confirmed yet. While fan speculation points toward potential dark rides or forest coasters, official attraction details remain strictly under wraps until future announcements.
What Is Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi, and Where Is It Located?
This unprecedented Wizarding World expansion is being constructed inside Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi, one of the world’s premier indoor theme parks.

- What It Is: Opened in July 2018, Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi is a $1 billion, state-of-the-art entertainment hub. Housed entirely under a massive, climate-controlled dome, it allows guests to explore rides, dining, and character encounters in air-conditioned comfort year-round.
- Where It Is Located: The park is situated on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, the capital city of the United Arab Emirates. It sits roughly 10 minutes from Abu Dhabi International Airport and 50 minutes from neighboring Dubai. The park shares Yas Island with major entertainment hubs, including Ferrari World, Yas Waterworld, and SeaWorld Yas Island.
- Current Park Layout: Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi currently features six immersive lands: Warner Bros. Plaza, Bedrock, Dynamite Gulch, Cartoon Junction, Gotham City, and Metropolis.

Opening Timeline and Future Outlook
Adding the three Harry Potter lands—alongside two upcoming DC Comics thrill rides—will increase the total size of Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi by more than 50%. Construction is actively underway, with developers targeting an official completion date in 2029. When complete, Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi will become the first destination outside of Universal’s resort network to host permanent, large-scale Harry Potter lands.
