Disney Gives ‘Frozen’ Land a New Look Less Than a Year After Opening

Disney has already made some big changes to one of its newest lands.

Frozen has become one of Disney’s biggest theme park franchises since the original film debuted in 2013. At Walt Disney World Resort, Frozen Ever After replaced Maelstrom at EPCOT in 2016, introducing Anna, Elsa, and Olaf to the park’s Norway Pavilion.

Disney later expanded the franchise with World of Frozen at Hong Kong Disneyland in November 2023. Featuring a recreation of Arendelle, the land introduced a new version of Frozen Ever After alongside Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs, a family-friendly (and extremely short) roller coaster.

In March 2026, another version of Arendelle debuted at Disneyland Paris. However, just seven months after opening, Disney has already introduced a new look for the land.

Disney Transforms World of Frozen for the Holidays

As of November 7, World of Frozen at Disney Adventure World has received a major festive makeover.

The land is celebrating its first Christmas with new decorations inspired by Nordic traditions, including garlands, wreaths, and ornaments covering the buildings throughout Arendelle.

A large Christmas tree has also been installed at the entrance, while artificial snow adds to the festivities throughout the village.

The changes are particularly noticeable around the colorful waterfront buildings, which previously featured relatively minimal decorations against the snow-covered backdrop of North Mountain.

The transformation comes less than a year after the land officially welcomed its first guests on March 29, 2026.

World of Frozen opened as part of the overhaul of Walt Disney Studios Park, which was renamed Disney Adventure World. The expansion introduced an entirely new area inspired by Disney’s animated Frozen movies, complete with a 118-foot mountain topped by Elsa’s Ice Palace.

At the center of the land is Frozen Ever After, a boat ride featuring advanced Audio-Animatronics of Anna, Elsa, Olaf, and other characters. Guests can also meet Anna and Elsa inside Arendelle Castle or dine at Nordic Crowns Tavern.

World of Frozen also offers the waterfront show A Celebration in Arendelle, which features the kingdom’s residents aboard Viking-inspired boats.

However, the new decorations aren’t the only changes introduced for the holiday season.

New Entertainment and Characters Arrive in Arendelle

Disney has introduced two festive musical performances to World of Frozen, both inspired by the kingdom’s Christmas traditions.

The Arendelle Carolers is a 15-minute performance led by Olaf, who joins a choir to perform songs from the 2017 animated short Olaf’s Frozen Adventure.

The soundtrack includes “Ring in the Season” and “When We’re Together,” with Anna and Elsa joining the performance as snow falls across the village.

Guests can also catch Ring in the Season with Anna and Elsa, a separate seven-minute show staged at Arendelle Bay several times daily.

For the performance, Anna and Elsa wear new winter outfits as they welcome visitors to a traditional seasonal celebration.

Another change involves the land’s characters. Kristoff has joined the lineup for the first time, appearing alongside Oaken and Mossie, who have already been entertaining guests since World of Frozen opened.

Disney has also introduced seasonal food inspired by Nordic flavors, while Arendelle Boutique is offering additional merchandise influenced by Scandinavian craftsmanship.

All of these additions are part of Disney Enchanted Christmas, which runs from November 7, 2026, through January 6, 2027.

The annual event also brings several changes to neighboring Disneyland Park, including the return of Mickey’s Dazzling Christmas Parade!, which takes place twice daily.

Guests can also enjoy the 78-foot Christmas tree in Town Square, the “Let’s Sing Christmas!” musical show, and visits with Santa Claus at Disney Clothiers on Main Street, U.S.A.

Starting November 14, Minnie Mouse and Mrs. Claus will also appear in a new musical celebration near Sleeping Beauty Castle.

Disney Adventure World has another major holiday event planned for December 31, when a special New Year’s Eve celebration will feature fireworks and drones above World of Frozen, weather permitting.
