Disney officially announced this past week that “Willow”, a new series based on the magical world that George Lucas created in the movie “Willow”, will be joining the Disney+ line up.

WhatsOnDisneyPlus explains that this series is the first time Lucasfilms will venture into a non-Star Wars story since 2015. The Disney+ series of “Willow” will take place years after the original events of the film. It will bring all-new characters but welcomes back the namesake hero, Willow Ufgood.

Many fans are excited for Willow to return as they have grown up with this hero and are looking forward to seeing what Lucasfilms can bring to the story. WhatsOnDisneyPlus says actor Warwick Davis states, “If Willow Ufgood can represent the heroic potential in all of us, then he is a character I am extremely honored to reprise” and we couldn’t agree more.
