Over the past few years, social media use has just exploded. Platforms like YouTube have been around for years, but it seems that now, more than ever, people are obsessed with becoming “influencers”. Successful influencers can snag major marketing deals, get a ton of free stuff — like clothes and even vacations –, and can make a lot of money.

One of the fastest-growing areas for influencers appears to be Disney. There are hundreds, if not thousands, of social media accounts that are all about Disney. Some focus on Walt Disney World, others stick to Disneyland. Then there are those who talk about Disney merchandise or dedicate their page to Disney food. Of course, there are those who cover everything Disney.

Social media vloggers have really become a point of contention among Disney guests. While there are some bloggers and live streamers who are known for being lovely to those they meet, there are more than a few who have been called out for being rude to guests and cast members. They are also called out for breaking the rules in order to get likes and views.

One well-liked YouTuber recently posted a video and admitted to being kicked out of Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom Park.

Brian — the man who runs the YouTube Channel Main Street Moments — was walking around Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort while he told the story. He said that he was going to be interviewing one of his favorite live streamers, which he planned to do in the Magic Kingdom. So, in preparation for the interview, he brought with him some items that he normally didn’t bring.

Brian said that when he tried to get into the park, they would not let him in. He said that not only was he denied entry, but he was approached by several Disney security guards. He was then told to empty everything from his bags. Once he did that, he was escorted away from the theme park.

Brian then showed his followers what he was trying to bring in. In his backpack were a couple of microphones, a digital recorder, two sets of headphones, a tripod, and a holder for his phone.

According to Brian, Disney security had issues with the microphones. He said that he was going to put them into a locker once inside the park, but was told that they were not allowed in the park at all. There are also no lockers located outside the park where he could put the mics in.

According to the Walt Disney World Resort website, there are a number of items and activities that are prohibited on property. One of the prohibited activities is filming for commercial use.

  • Photography, videotaping or recording of any kind, or otherwise engaging in any activity, for unapproved commercial purposes.

Now, to be fair to Brian, he did admit that he was in the wrong. He said that he thought he looked like an entitled influencer. Not once did he blame Disney security or cast members. In the comments, he also said that he was unaware of the rules and items that Disney did not allow in the parks.

What do you think of Disney live streamers and bloggers?
