Disney describes the hotel as “Celebrating the iconic legacy of Disney storytelling, the creative process, and the visionary minds behind it all. Here, you’ll discover wonderful memory-making stays while immersed in Disney history in the place where it all started—the Disneyland Resort!”

As Guests enter the new tower, they will be greeted by the Disney animated-inspired mural that will surely wow you.

Disney Animation-Inspired Mural

The beautiful mural was created by Lorelay Bové. Bove was the associate production designer on Disney Animation’s Academy Award-winning Encanto (2021). “Bové is a veteran of the Disney Animation visual development team, contributing artwork and design to the Oscar-winning films Big Hero 6 (2014) and Zootopia (2016) as well as other fan favorites such as The Princess and the Frog (2009) Tangled (2010), Winnie the Pooh (1977) and Wreck-It Ralph (2012),” Disney writes.

The mural features hidden Mickey’s as any classic Disney artwork would. Additionally, as it’s inspired by Disney animated films, iconic characters appear. From the artwork, we can see Simba, Tiana, Mirabel, and Mowgli. In an interview with Disney Parks Blog, Bove was asked, “There are so many different films represented in this piece. What is the most exciting part about bringing all these timeless Disney Animation stories together?”

She responded, “To me, it was revisiting each movie and enjoying those moments that are just so precious in each film. I grew up with Disney, like a lot of people, and being able to work on the newer films and celebrate past films was just a treat.” This new mural is quite the “treat” to all Disney Guests who get to experience the new Resort and all its glory. Excitingly, Disney has also created a digital wallpaper to download the mural to enjoy from just about anywhere until you can revel in its beauty in person.
