Foodies rejoice! Disney is releasing yet another update on some delicious new sips and bites. With so many new treats, every trip to Disney is a new experience. Recently, Disneyland announced new menu items at a favorite restaurant in the Park.

At Carnation Cafe, River Belle Terrace, and Cafe Orleans, Guests will soon be able to indulge in new offerings. Beginning September 12, tasty entrees, along with alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages, will be available for Guests to enjoy at the dine-in restaurants.

As the new menu items roll out, Disneyland is keeping us foodies on our toes. As of now, alcoholic beverages are not offered in all dining areas at Disneyland Park. In fact, there are limited opportunities in Disneyland to drink alcohol, and they are at dine-in, sit-down restaurants. The release of these new menu items are adding to the list of restaurants Guests can stop in for an adult sip.

Carnation Cafe is known for its classic American food, and many pay homage to Walt Disney, as some items were his favorite. Menu items already include fried pickles, short ribs, and a parmesan patty melt. The nostalgic cafe is also open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

As shown on Twitter, the menu is still developing, but Guests can look forward to Bloody Marys, Peach Pie Margaritas, mimosas, or Orange Cream Soda, which is non-alcoholic. Furthermore, food items include a veggie skillet and a chili cheese omelet.

Walt’s Disneyland

While as a foodie, new food is always exciting news, not everyone shares the same enthusiasm with the menu items. I don’t think the controversy is over the veggie skillet but rather the option to serve alcoholic beverages at another dining location. Fans took to Disney Parks Twitter to comment on their beliefs.

Many comments were positive towards something new and different; some felt it betrayed the beliefs of the creator of it all, Walt Disney. One fan, AlexJChipman commented, “You have betrayed your founder immensely. The original head of the Mouse House drew a line in the sand that outlived him for decades. “No liquor, no beer, nothing. Because that brings in a rowdy element, that brings people that we don’t want, and I feel they don’t need it.”

Although Walt Disney created Disneyland with certain intents in mind, he was open to the concept of everlasting change, which is where the idea of EPCOT stemmed from. It is a wonder if Walt Disney would enjoy some decisions that The Walt Disney Company has made as a whole.
