ABC Confirms Date for Disney’s Biggest Holiday Special

Halloween season is almost over. In just a few days, the costumes will be packed away, the jack-o’-lanterns will start to droop, and the moment the clock strikes midnight on November 1, the holiday season will officially take over. I’ll admit I’m not quite ready to say goodbye to spooky season, but plenty of Disney fans have been counting down to Christmas for weeks. And now they have a date to circle on the calendar.

ABC has announced when its annual Disney holiday special will air. The Wonderful World of Disney: Holiday Spectacular returns on Monday, November 30, 2026, from 8:00 to 10:00 PM ET/PT. For many families, this special has become the unofficial kickoff to the holiday season, bringing festive performances from the Disney parks right into living rooms across the country.

ABC also confirmed the date for another holiday favorite, the Disney Parks Magical Christmas Day Parade, which will air on Christmas morning. Between the two specials, Disney fans have plenty of holiday magic to look forward to on TV this year, even if they can’t make it to the parks in person.

Here’s everything we know so far about this year’s Holiday Spectacular, a look back at last year’s special, and when to tune in for the Christmas Day Parade.

When to Watch the 2026 Holiday Spectacular

The Wonderful World of Disney: Holiday Spectacular will air on:

    • Date: Monday, November 30, 2026
    • Time: 8:00 to 10:00 PM ET/PT
    • Network: ABC

That’s the Monday after Thanksgiving, making it a perfect way to ease into the holiday season once the leftovers are gone.

What to Expect This Year

According to ABC, the 2026 special will feature new musical performances filmed at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida and Disneyland Resort in California.

ABC has not yet announced the host or the lineup of performers. That’s usually one of the most exciting parts of the reveal, so fans will want to keep an eye out for updates over the next few weeks.

Some of the filming may already be on the calendar. Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade is set to perform during the daytime at Magic Kingdom on November 10 and 11 for ABC holiday special filming. If you’re visiting Magic Kingdom on either of those days, you might even get a chance to see some of the magic being captured for TV.

A Look Back at Last Year’s Special

Last year’s Holiday Spectacular aired on Monday, December 1, 2025, at 8:00 PM ET/PT on ABC. The special was hosted by Derek Hough, with narration by Ginnifer Goodwin. Performances were filmed at Walt Disney World, Disneyland, and Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa.

The 2025 lineup was packed with big names, including:

    • Aloe Blacc
    • Good Charlotte
    • Coco Jones
    • Mariah the Scientist
    • Bebe Rexha
    • Nicole Scherzinger
    • Gwen Stefani
    • Iam Tongi
    • Trisha Yearwood

That kind of star power is a big reason Disney fans check ABC’s holiday schedule every fall. This year’s listing only mentions Walt Disney World and Disneyland for new performances so far, so it’s not yet clear if Aulani will be part of the 2026 special.

Don’t Forget the Christmas Day Parade

ABC also announced the date for the Disney Parks Magical Christmas Day Parade. The special will air on:

    • Date: Friday, December 25, 2026
    • Time: 10:00 AM Eastern, 9:00 AM Central

ABC recommends checking local listings for other time zones.

According to ABC, the Christmas morning tradition returns with star-studded performances from Walt Disney World and Disneyland. For many families, watching the parade while opening presents or sipping hot cocoa is just as much a part of Christmas as decorating the tree.

Why These Specials Matter to Disney Fans

Not everyone can make it to Walt Disney World or Disneyland during the holidays. These ABC specials give fans a way to experience the festive decorations, parades, and performances from home.

For families who do visit the parks, the specials can also be a fun way to relive their trips or get excited about an upcoming vacation. Spotting a familiar Main Street, U.S.A. or castle backdrop on TV can bring back great memories.

How to Get Ready for Holiday Season

If you’re ready to switch from Halloween to holiday mode, here are a few ways to prepare:

    • Mark your calendar for November 30. Set a reminder so you don’t miss the Holiday Spectacular.
    • Plan your Christmas morning. The parade airs at 10:00 AM Eastern on December 25.
    • Watch for the lineup announcement. Hosts and performers have not been revealed yet.
    • Make it a tradition. Grab some cocoa, cozy blankets, and gather the family.

Holiday Season Is Almost Here

Halloween may still have a few days left, but the holiday season is right around the corner. With The Wonderful World of Disney: Holiday Spectacular set for November 30 and the Disney Parks Magical Christmas Day Parade airing on Christmas morning, Disney fans have two big nights of holiday magic to look forward to.

Whether you’re still holding on to spooky season or you’ve already started decorating, these specials are a great reminder that the most magical time of the year is just about here.

Will you be tuning in on November 30?
