With Muppet*Vision 3D now officially closed at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, fans are wondering if the Muppets are being shown the door at Disney World. After all, the attraction was the last major in-park presence for Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, and the gang—a 4D holdover from a different era of Imagineering. But don’t go mourning the felt just yet.
While one curtain closes, another is about to open. A couple, in fact.
As you probably know by now, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, the aging thrill ride currently set to the music of Aerosmith, is getting a full-blown Muppet makeover. Disney hasn’t said much about what the ride will entail specifically, but concept art leaked earlier this year makes it pretty clear: the fictional Muppet band Electric Mayhem is essentially replacing Aerosmith.
Yes, that Electric Mayhem—the Muppets’ house band, led by the ever-goggled Dr. Teeth and fueled by Animal’s chaotic drum solos.
So, instead of Steven Tyler shouting “Love in an Elevator,” guests will soon be strapped in for a psychedelic jam session straight out of a Muppet tour bus fever dream.
Electric Mayhem was one of the breakout hits of The Muppets Mayhem, the Disney+ series that dropped last year. Even if the show didn’t top the viewing charts (it ended up being canceled), it reminded Disney (and viewers) that the Muppets still had gas in the tank.

So, Muppet*Vision 3D might be well and truly gone, but with the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster re-theme expected to be completed sometime in 2026, and with The Muppet Christmas Carol in Concert now returning to U.K. theaters once again this holiday season, it’s clear that Disney is still testing ways to keep these beloved characters in rotation.
With that said, fans who aren’t in the U.K. probably won’t care about a live concert they can’t see — even if it is based on one of the most beloved Christmas movies of all time. So here’s hoping The Muppet Christmas Carol shows up in U.S. theaters sooner rather than later.
