A viral video is drawing attention to a shocking roller coaster malfunction at a local carnival or fair, where at least nine children were trapped after a freak accident. The incident, which sent riders plummeting backwards due to a mechanical failure, has sparked serious safety concerns about traveling amusement park rides.
On August 15, 2025, TikTok user @fallenarrows shared a video showing a small dragon-themed roller coaster as it malfunctioned mid-ride. The video quickly garnered over 1.2 million views and thousands of likes and comments.
The ride was moving along the track when the wheels flew off, sending the kids plunging backwards down the track. One onlooker lashed out at the attraction workers, asking, “You ain’t gonna f**king stop it?”
This unsettling scene has reignited conversations surrounding the safety of carnival and fair rides, with many viewers questioning how such an accident could occur.

“My dad was a roller coaster inspector and always said don’t trust anything that can be built or taken down in a day,” @abbyzepp commented.
“Held together with bubblegum and glue,” @bradley.pat replied. “No Maintenace ever done on any of these rides and they just use them year after year.”
“Honestly after working as a mechanic I can’t ever enjoy carnival rides again,” said @sloppytoppy024. “Just notice how poorly most of it is maintained lol. Oof that’s a rough weld, or oh that bearing is about to go.”

Despite the concerns voiced by some, others defended the industry, sharing their own experiences working with carnival rides.
“I used to be a carnie on the kiddy rides and our boss went around every night to check the rides,” @canddg84 explained. “Our job in the morning was to check over everything and if we found a coin there was something not correct, if you didn’t find a coin and you went to do your test run and you find out the key was gone you missed an issue (could range from R clips, bolts to seat belts etc). You had to fix the issue, return the coin and have the owner come check the ride, prior to 2 hours before open time. Sadly not all run this way.”
