A ‘Beauty and the Beast’ Inspired Experience Just Arrived in EPCOT

Beauty and the Beast (1991) is one of the most iconic Disney animated films, and the theme of one of the movie’s most memorable songs is the perfect addition to this time of year in EPCOT.

The EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival is currently running with outdoor kitchens, the Eat to the Beat Concert Series, exclusive merchandise, photo ops, and more now through November 19, 2022. Another staple of EPCOT’s annual festivals is now the new lighting packages and music that take over the Park’s icon, Spaceship Earth, evenings throughout the festival.

The first new lighting package took place at the beginning of this year with the “Rainbow Connection” inspired music and lights taking over Spaceship Earth. And, with this year’s Food & Wine Festival a new theme has been introduced, this time inspired by Beauty and the Beast.

Creative Portfolio Executive of Walt Disney Imagineering Zach Riddley shared a first look at Spaceship Earth’s new Beauty and the Beast-inspired update on Instagram saying:

For our newest limited time sequence, we were inspired by the vibrant colors and strong movement in the 1991 Walt Disney Animation Studios classic, “Beauty and the Beast,” and infused both into the programming of the show. Be on the lookout for some fun subtle easter eggs such as rising champagne bubbles and the multicolor spotlights from the finale of the song, plus a special tri-color celebration to France, the setting and inspiration of this tale as old as time.

The Academy Award winning musical number from the film, “Be Our Guest,” provides the perfect backdrop along with this gorgeous lighting for Guests to take in during the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival.

And, in keeping with the global theme of EPCOT, the song is included in both English and French. In French, “Be Our Guest,” is “C’est la Fete,” and both versions of the song sound incredible and add to the excitement and vibrance Guests will feel during evenings at EPCOT this summer and fall.
