Disneyland Documentary ‘Disneyland Handcrafted’ Coming This Winter on Disney+ and YouTube

Disneyland fans will soon get an unprecedented behind-the-scenes look at the making of the park in Disneyland Handcrafted, a new documentary from acclaimed filmmaker Leslie Iwerks. Scheduled to release this winter on Disney+ and Disney’s YouTube channel, the film promises to take viewers deep into the history and craftsmanship that brought the iconic theme park to life.

History Unveiled

In a post to X, Disney teased: “Disney Handcrafted will showcase handpicked rarely seen footage from the excitement around the construction of Disneyland more than 70 years ago.” The documentary aims to transport audiences back to the early days of Disneyland, offering a rare glimpse at the meticulous work, innovation, and creativity that went into building one of the world’s most beloved entertainment destinations.

Disneyland Handcrafted will explore more than just the rides and attractions fans know and love today. Viewers will see the park’s origins, including its beginnings amid California’s orange groves, as well as the people, tools, and techniques that shaped the park’s iconic design. From conceptual sketches to hands-on construction, the documentary promises a rich look at how Walt Disney’s vision became a reality.

What to Expect

Leslie Iwerks, a filmmaker with deep ties to Disney history, is known for her ability to capture both the magic and the meticulous effort behind the company’s most legendary projects.
