Big changes are in the works at the Magic Kingdom as construction continues to transform the former Splash Mountain attraction into Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, an all-new ride inspired by Disney’s The Princess and the Frog (2009).

Guests walking through Frontierland might be greeted with construction walls (themed to “Tiana’s Foods” no less) but some areas of the worksite are still visible while in the theme park. And while checking out the construction progress, one Guests recently spotted an unexpected visitor checking out the ride as well.

TikTok user @manyadventuresofautumn shared a video from her recent trip to the Magic Kingdom, including a walk through Frontierland and by the future Princess and the Frog-inspired attraction.

As crews work to remove the tree at the top of the show building that was themed to Splash Mountain, the ride path has been drained entirely with the bottom of the moat visible at the end of the attraction’s final drop.

In addition to construction crews, @manyadventuresofautumn captured video of a four-legged Guest checking out the latest progress:

Cats are no strangers to Disney Parks, and while they are more commonly seen at Disneyland in Anaheim, California, Walt Disney World has many feline residents of its own.

In addition to keeping the Parks’ rodent population under control, it seems this was just an instance of a curious cat taking a look at some of the latest updates to the Park.

In other recent updates on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, Disney confirmed that Mama Odie will be featured in the attraction along with several additional characters with many of the voice actors from the animated films reprising their roles.

Additionally, we know the ride will contain both new and original music, and that the queue will feature the scent of beignets (which makes us cautiously optimistic that we might find a place to buy beignets in the Magic Kingdom when the ride opens.)

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is set to open in 2024 at both Walt Disney World and Disneyland, while Tokyo Disney Resort has not announced any changes to its Splash Mountain attraction as of this writing.
