Performers from Disney and Cirque du Soleil’s Drawn to Life received quite the surprise when a special Guest visited them backstage to congratulate the cast on successfully completing their 500th performance in the show’s two-year run.
Cirque du Soleil, a traveling company known for its unique shows featuring “acrobatic performances, dazzling choreography, and musical scores,” boasts a plethora of original storylines within its multiple themed stunt spectaculars. Of course, one of these is Drawn to Life, a collaboration with Walt Disney Animation Studios in celebration of its 100 years of storytelling.

The show, which debuted a year ago on November 18 at Disney Springs, follows the loving relationship between a father and his daughter, including all new animated scenes created by Disney Animators themselves! What’s more, the production “celebrates iconic Disney stories and characters through innovative design” and has enjoyed great success since its opening.
As described on the Disney Springs website, this “creative tour-de-force” is a “love letter to the art of Disney animation” that will “set your imagination in motion!” What’s more:
In this first-ever collaboration between Cirque du Soleil, Walt Disney Animation Studios and Walt Disney Imagineering, journey into a world where an animator’s desk becomes the stage and drawings come alive. The show is a celebration of life, accentuated by the delightful, mesmerizing movements of Cirque du Soleil’s acrobatic mastery.

In fact, the cast recently celebrated 500 successful performances, and in response, a very special Guest visited them for a special behind-the-scenes look at all the Disney magic! Multi-faceted performer, TV host, and singer, Neil Patrick Harris visited Disney Springs for the 500th performance of Drawn to Life and took the time to visit the acrobats after the performance.
What’s more, Harris was at the Walt Disney World Resort with his family due to his role as a Candlelight Processional celebrity narrator this year in EPCOT Parks’ International Festival of the Holidays presented by AdventHealth. Certainly, everyone was glad the star and his family enjoyed the show as a reward for his contribution to Disney Parks’ special holiday magic!
